Our Lightly Stitched-Together Returns Policy

We know that sometimes your creative vision changes — or maybe that “perfect” shade of teal turned out to be more of an “I-accidentally-ordered-aqua” situation. Don’t panic! We’re here to help (with only a small amount of judgment, and that’s mostly from the fabric rolls).

The Basics

You’ve got 30 days from the date of delivery to return your fabric or haberdashery items.

Items must be unused, uncut, unwashed, and un-ironed — basically, still in the same pristine condition it arrived in (no signs of having starred in a failed sewing project).

Please keep your receipt or order number handy. Our memory is good, but it’s not that good.

What Can’t Be Returned

Cut fabric lengths — once you’ve snipped it to your size, it’s yours forever (like a loyal sewing machine).  

Custom or made-to-measure orders — if we’ve tailored it just for you, we can’t re-roll it for someone else.

Sale fabrics, remnants, or clearance items — those are final-cut deals! 

Anything that’s been through a crafting “incident” (spilled tea, enthusiastic pet, or overzealous pinking shears).

How to Return

Drop us a line saying you’d like to return something. Bonus points if you use sewing puns — we appreciate commitment.

We’ll send you the return instructions and address.

Pop the item back in its packaging (neatly, please — no origami challenges).  Oh and don't forget to tell us who you are and preferably the order number.

Once we receive it, we’ll process your refund, exchange, or store credit faster than you can say “bobbins!”

🪡 The Small Print

We’re a small business with big fabric energy, so we handle all returns personally (and usually with a cup of tea in hand).

We promise to be fair, friendly, and maybe a little bit funny about it.

We want you to love your fabric — or at least not regret your colour choices in low lighting.

Of course we have to say this ... We respect and honour your national consumer rights in which ever country you reside in.  (just in case you were wondering)!

What Happens When We Get Your Fabric Order

So, you’ve clicked “Add to Basket” and checked out — hooray!  You’ve officially made our day. But what happens next? Well, here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at the exciting (and mildly chaotic) adventure your fabric goes on before it lands on your doorstep…

Step 1: The Great Fabric Hunt

Your order pings into our system, and somewhere in our shop, a team member (usually powered by caffeine and optimism) goes on a noble quest to locate your chosen fabric.

They’ll dodge fabric rolls, unearth hidden treasures, and mutter things like, “Is that duck egg blue or pale mint?” until they find the one.  Then they read your comments - just in case you are making a special project and want an opinion on the best colour match

Step 2: The Snip of Destiny

Once found, your fabric is carefully measured — with actual tape measures, not guesswork or vibes — and cut to perfection.

This is a sacred moment. We make sure the edges are neat, the measurements are spot-on, and that no rogue threads are left to cause drama later.

Step 3: The Folding Olympics

Next comes folding — a process that requires equal parts precision, patience, and prayer. We wrestle the fabric into a neat, parcel-ready masterpiece, because presentation matters (and because we secretly enjoy a good fold).

Step 4: Packed With Love (and Tape)

Your order is then packaged with care — and possibly a little too much tape — ready to brave the postal system. We double-check names, addresses, and occasionally wonder if “The Sewing Nook of Dreams” is a real place (turns out, it is).

Step 5: Off It Goes!

We ship by the quickest way possible so if you are in United Kingdom we'll send it Royal Mail 24 hr service and postie willing you'll get your parcel tomorrow.  Somewhere else in the world - we'll use the best carrier for your country.  Now your parcel embarks on its epic journey to you — via mail carrier, sorting depot, and possibly a very confused delivery driver who now knows far more about fabric than they ever wanted to.

Step 6: You Get the Fabric Feels

A few days later, or maybe next day, you receive your order, open it up, and — we hope — squeal a little with delight. Maybe you stroke the fabric lovingly. Maybe you immediately plan your next project. Maybe you just sniff it (no judgment, we do it too).

And that’s how your fabric order goes from our shelves to your sewing table — with care, precision, and a healthy dose of laughter along the way.

We totally understand — ordering fabric online can feel a bit like online dating.

You think you’ve found the one, but when it arrives... the colour’s wrong, the texture’s not what you imagined, and you’re left wondering where it all went wrong.

That’s why we offer Video Shopping via WhatsApp — the next best thing to popping into the shop and having a good natter over the fabric table!

Here’s how it works

Step 1: Message Us

Send us a WhatsApp message saying something like,

“Help! I need fabric but the internet is confusing.”

We’ll arrange a time that suits you for a quick video call.

Step 2: Lights, Camera, Fabric!

When it’s showtime, we’ll give you a live tour of the shop — showing you the colours, textures, patterns, and sparkly bits in real life.

You can say things like:

“Oooh, zoom in on that floral!”

“Does that drape nicely?”

“Hold that next to the polka dots!”

We’ll be your personal fabric assistants — minus the pushy sales pitch and with a lot more giggling.

Step 3: Ask Away

Want to see how two fabrics look together? Need help choosing a backing?

We’ll compare, hold them side by side, and give honest opinions (sometimes brutally honest — we’ve saved many from the perils of clashing prints).

Step 4: Place Your Order

Once you’ve fallen in love with your choices, we’ll sort out the order details for you — easy peasy.

No endless scrolling, no dodgy screen colours, and no “oops, I ordered 10 metres instead of 1.”

Step 5: Sit Back and Relax

We’ll cut, pack, and post your fabrics with care — and possibly a little bit of glitter from the craft table.
